Hi everyone,I haven't done any formal translation jobs. Just few informal ones and I do think I could do well. I just wanted to know from those willing to help what should be the furst step to get a qualification. Any great names? I was willing to do some sort of qualification from home. I am Brazilian and would love to work using my language. If anyone could give me few tips would be great!! Thanks.

Hi there!
There is a certificate called the Diploma of Translation, which is the "holy grail" of translation and interpretation diplomas. Once you have this diploma, you become a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. You will also earn the title "DipTrans" which you can state on your c.v.
This will grant you access to a lot of work and will get you very far! It is notoriously difficult but it is definitely worth doing. I believe you can study for it by correspondence so you do not need to be in London. I will provide you with the link below - on the website they also list a number of places where you can study for it abroad or by correspondence and where you can take the examinations....

I hope this helps!
